Bellmans includes Works of Art in their monthly Interiors Auction and Valuation in our Sussex salesroom. Recent highlights include a signed bronze bust by Jacob Epstein (1881-1959) from around 1921 - the first portrait of Kathleen, his muse and mother of his children, which sold for £6,600. A rare portrait on vellum by Wenceslaus Hollar (1607-1677) of Henry Fitzalan, 12th Earl of Arundel (1512-1580) £5,000, while an early 19th century Indian gold inlaid Tulwar sword, with curved Damascened blade made £10,000.

A single-owner collection of cars and motorcycles, which included classic motorbikes dating from 1920 to 1980, saw a 1926 Douglas EW 350 motorcycle selling for £6,500 and a Hardy Bros 9" big game fishing reel, stamped 'Hardy Bros Ltd No 1536', also made £6,500. A 19th century West Indies shellwork sailor's valentine reading 'A present from Barbados' sold recently for £1,700. A Gebruder Marklin & Co tinplate toy castle, dating from circa 1905, achieved a valuation of £8,800. A collection of six Goyard and Louis Vuitton travelling trunks and cases were recently sold in our Sussex and London auction rooms for more than £16,500.
